Airport Mesa Vortex
ADA Accessibility Notes
NOT accessible for wheel chairs. Saddle area is easier to access (like going up 2 flights of stairs on a rock and dirt trail). Summit (top) is equivalent to walking up an additional 3-4 flights of stairs on a rock and dirt trail. NOT recommended for individuals with balance issues.
Airport Mesa Vortex is an Upflow area (also called Electric or Masculine) that helps your spirit soar for a higher perspective and/or greater oneness and serenity. It is also the one place in Sedona where you can get a 360 degree panorama of the whole town. So many feel it lets them scoop up and pull in all the wonderful energy of Sedona. There is limited parking half way up Airport Rd. (on the left). For those able to do a longer hike, there is a large parking area at the top of Airport Rd. (on the left). Airport mesa Vortex can then be access by hiking down the Sedona View Trail (approx. 1 mile).
Pet Friendly Notes
Service animals and leashed pets are allowed, BUT barking animals are not conducive to others quiet activities.
Recreational Opportunities
Individuals can reflectively contemplate at either the Saddle area or the top the middle mound (follow Summit trail). For lead spiritual activities and/or guided yoga, a Guide that has a Permit with the Red Rock Ranger District is required, as Airport mesa Vortex is on the Coconino National Forest.
