Doors wide enough for wheel chairs, space inside is narrow
This 1800's Stage Stop & Boarding House still has the original Adobe walls and fireplace. According to legend, the fireplace is where Clint Wingfield, a local merchant died after being shot by the notorious outlaw Black Jack Ketchum. If these walls could talk I'm sure there would be days of entertainment for all. The Old Stage Stop now houses Laid Back Jewelry and Trading Post where you can buy Native American jewelry & Arts/Crafts, sterling silver, Hopi & Navajo Kachinas, Navajo Rugs, Old Pawn, Antiques, Western Memorabilia, Ladies Fashions,Gold & Diamonds. You name it they may have it.
Laid Back is located a short walk from other Camp Verde Historical sites, Fort Verde, Old Jail & the Old Wingfield Store Building. The Visitors Center is also a short walk from this wonderful historical building.
The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. If they don't have the answer they will search it out.
