All buildiings and levels of Larry's are ADA accessable with the exception of the second story loft in the barn.
Larry's Antiques and Things in Historic Old Town Cottonwood is a destination for folks both local and out of town. People from all over the world come to Old Town just to visit this historic building, which sits on two acres at the top of North Main street. The first commercial building in Cottonwood, dating back to 1895, once housed the first Model T dealership in AZ. 796 North Main Street has also been a gas station, a feed store and for the past 40 years, an antiques and collectables shop.On display are pictures of various times during the history of the building showing the cars and buildings as they were back then.
As an antiques and collectables shop, Larry's has often been touted as a museum of things from times gone by. People always say they should charge an admission!. As an activity, local residents bring their out of town guests to be amused and amazed by all the treasures spread around the two acre property and throughout the five different buildings. Once an chicken coop, an ice house, a hay barn,a garage and a store front these buildings now house items both imaginable and unimaginable!
A visit to Larry's Antiques and Things is a true cultural experience based on the amount of Native American Arts and Crafts, antique farm implements and equiptment, antique tools, Cowboy and Old West related items, antique paintings and lithographs that abound on its walls, in it's halls and all around the yard outside. The extremely knowledgeable staff at Larry's is happy to share information about any of the millions of items in the shop. Most of which you may never have seen before!
Photographers both proffessional and amatuer from all around the world come to Larry's to take photographs. Some which are then turned into award winning works of art or pages in books documenting the history of the Verde Valley. Each year Movie studios rent items from Larry's to dress the sets of various movies being shot locally as well.
Larry's Antiques works closely with local museums by finding and providing items to complete their collections and illustrate the local culture and history. From mining tools and equiptment from the mines in Jerome and Clardale to Native Amercan artifacts from the local tribes like the Sin Aqua, Navajo,and Yavapai Apache , Larry's is proud to have contributed to many of the llocal area museums.
Everyone leaves Larry's with more knowledge of the past then they walked in with. History buff or not ,it's one of the most interesting places in Arizona.Whether you are young or old Larry's Antiques and Things is well worth a visit!
