Eco-Friendly Notes

This Environmental Sustainability Policy is applicable to MMI’s daily business operations, both on- and off-site.

MMI, a leading education provider of effective meditation training and training of meditation teachers, has been in business in Arizona since 2006. Over the history of our operations, MMI has demonstrated our stewardship of the natural environment and the community where those employed by MMI live and work.

MMI is strongly committed to being energy efficient and to adopting environmentally sound business practices. We train our employees, volunteers, and contractors to conduct their activities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

We are committed to conserving natural resources through eco-efficient management strategies, in five key areas that are important to our long-term business success: energy and water use, waste generation and recycling, sustainable packaging, selection of compliant venues, and green supply chains.

We have policies in place which conserve water, gas, and electricity. We are committed to purchasing recycled, reusable, and recyclable business supplies. We use recycled copy paper, and reusable ink toner cartridges. Our education supplies are made from recycled materials whenever possible, including curriculum notebooks and CD covers.

We use green cleaning supplies, and recycled paper products in our restrooms and refreshment areas. We refuse to use single-use plastic items, and opt for reusable glassware whenever possible. We recycle our office waste whenever possible, including paper, packaging, cartons, batteries, and used electronics.

When signing contracts to utilize off-site venues, we insist on green and sustainable options. When providing meals for events, we offer vegan/vegetarian organic foods and drinks. We ensure that there are adequate recycling receptacles. We expect our suppliers to adhere to the applicable environmental laws of the countries, regions, and cities in which they operate.
